Neat! Really glad they added Gigabit Ethernet.

Are there any benchmarks on the VideoCore VI?

I got my first RPI4 today have the Raspberry Desktop running and am now working on ROS. Happy day's
(Note. Tried a 1080p monitor, and this board runs way hot even with heat sinks in 4k with 3840 by 2160 or just 1080p.

In theory, the RPi4+4GB is more powerful than my netbook in its default configuration (2-core 1.0GHz/1.33GHz, 4GB, USB2, Fast Ethernet, 802.11n)...

Probably will pick up one of the RPi4+4GB in the next month, or so, to see if I can get anything like my netbook performance with the RPi4 running off SD and/or USB3 thumbdrive.

If it is true that Walmart is going to carry the rpi4, this could be the pi's chance to really shine.

Have you tried to get the HROS1-Framework to compile on your Pi4 yet? I've been trying to for the past few days, but not able to get all the deprecated stuff fixed to work with the latest compiler in the Pi4 OS.

No. Sorry I have not upgraded this robot past the rp-3, sigh!

Re: The Raspberry pi 4 Model B

I dropped back to test a Pi3 using hros1-v3-rasbian-jessie-12-09-16.zip and everything worked in my test setup except head tracking. That was possibly just due to not having the camera plugged in.

I did try this last week and everything failed. I later discovered/figured out, that it was due to doing update and upgrade, right away. The upgrade introduced a new version of the compiler that just will not accept a lot of deprecated things that the old compiler would. The new compiler switched those things from warnings to errors, which makes the compile fail.

I have figured out that the compiler is what is giving me fits when I try to compile the Framework on a Pi 4. I've managed to fix, I think, the outright errors, but have a bunch of warnings still. I think I'm just down to a communications problem between the Pi 4 and the Arbotix Pro. One of the things slowing me down is having only one 12v 10A Power Supply, which means I have to turn off and disconnect from one Pi to try things on another.

    Back to troubleshooting.
