    Thank You Adrenalynn,
I have been doing this art for 30 years just as a hobby ,The Loved for movie FX like Star Wars .Wanted to do stopmotion animation and special makeup effects .I just wanted to make monsters.Got clay and started sculpting .Its was kinda self taught and this was before the internet ,just reading lot of books and magazines .And then
JANUARY 24, 1997 4:35 PM first phone call I will never forget that day.
From my mentor,Makeup Master Dick Smith .
To name a few movies he did
    The Godfather
    The Exorcist
    Altered States
    Amadeus (OSCAR 1984)
This man has helped me so much and he is a Good Friend.
I made some werewolf masks and sold them to fund My Animatronic project.
The animatronic took me over 2 years to make.Because its 2 projects in 1.
I filmed the entire process of making the animatronic. I shot 93 hours of DV tapes.
And I made a instuctional DVD set ,3 disks 3 hours 33 mins. long

    Thanks Again
    Gary

    Re: My ANIMATRONIC PROJECT

Nice Work, Gary - and great storyboards!

Once Alex repairs the Links directory, you should add a link. Teaching the animatronics stuff should be really important to a lot of roboticists looking for more "realism".

My only concern is: If I come to the dental practice that you work for - are my teeth going to end up looking like that? I'm not sure if that's cool or frightening - or both simultaneously.

Your asking price for your DVD series seems very reasonable to my eye. I did some prosthetic makeup at Trek Cons back in highschool/college, pre-Internet too. That was a very obtuse related field. I was making reasonable money doing it, and I'd have DOVE on a set of DVDs (tapes then. ) that would have offered even just a few tips.

Once I've put some projects to rest and can give it proper attention, I'll be all over ordering your series. The mechanics of animatronics has always been something of a blackbox to me that has held interest if for no other reason than that it is such a "black art". So I do thank you for sharing it - even from your youtube snippets I feel like I've got a better handle on how it works.

Prices are on his website, willetfx.com - about $80USD for the complete series if memory serves. He takes Paypal direct.
