    Any C# book recommendations?

I use Visual Studio at work. However, since I'm self-taught and only do front-end development (user interfaces), I have some serious gaps--like The Big Picture--in my programming knowledge.

I'm planning to order this book,
[ame="http://www.amazon.com/C-3-0-Unleashed-NET-Framework/dp/0672329816/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1232124150&sr=1-1"]C# 3.0 Unleashed: With the .NET Framework 3.5[/ame], today. Does anybody have other C# book or resource recommendations? Are there any robotics-specific C# books out there?

Here's a link to the first chapter of the C# 3.0 Unleashed: With the .NET Framework 3.5 book: http://www.code-magazine.com/Article.aspx?quickid=080093

I used "Sam's Teach Yourself Visual C# 2008 in 24 Hours" and it was quite informative for me, having no previous C# or .NET experience. Really solid book.

If you already use Visual Studio you'd probably want to skip the first few chapters.

The book you selected, C# 3.0 Unleashed: With the .NET Framework 3.5, looks like a good reference.

You might consider looking at patterns like Model-View-Controller (MVC) or n-tier architecture.

    I'll look into it. Thanks!

    My picks:
.NET 2.0 Networking Projects - a cookbook, lots of robot applicability
Pro C# 2008 and the .NET 3.5 Platform - reference book

    We really need a forum.FAQ...

Thanks for taking a quick look a the Unleashed book.

You're right that I should keep architecture patterns in mind. I'm familiar with the ones that you mentioned from the division of labor here at work. What I really need right now, though, is "how," especially from a start-to-end perspective.

It would be nice to find a book that was nuts & bolts, but with the exercises laid out to follow good form.

That's what the ".NET 2.0 Networking Projects" is.

I've looked for it and all I can find is "Practical .NET 2.0 Networking Projects". I just want to make sure it's the same thing...
