Cool. I'm about to build a robot based on the scout, so it's always interesting to see what other people have done with it. Which servos are you using?

Cool project, man! Using 7.2v for power? What servos are those?

Servo's are Hitec HSR-5995TG's - Discontinued (Rated up to 7.4v).. Replacement is HSR-5990TG.. Much better servo.. But, these I got cheap enough to make building this mech possible.

    Thanks, Connor

Any plans for additional sensors, or just RC (autonomous?) and a camera?

Will add laser pointers and my guns. I'll be using MechDAR (developed by lnxfergy) which consists of 5 IR sensors. (1 on the front will pan), camera.. and the targets. I'm still working on making him walk at the moment.

Laser pointers huh? Sounds like a nice idea, but how are you planning to align the guns and pointers?

I'd imagine the same way you align any scope or lasersight, right?

Bench-mount it, fire a few shots from a fixed position at a target, align it, then rinse, lather, repeat up to the MOA limits/precision of the scope system or weapons system.

I made a rudimentary bore sight from 2 dowels and an index card. A dowell in each bore card on the far end then center the laser. That got in the ballpark, then it was shoot and adjust. Seems the guns shoot higher than I though.
