    inexpensive robot hand

    I got my 8 year old nephew one of these for Christmas. I've seen people trying to fabricate something like this...

    $30 is a pretty good price for what it is. Repurposing it should be fairly straightforward.

    I have only seen images so far. Are you going to tell your nephew before you rework it?

    I think John Iovine had a tutorial on making a robotic hand out of one of those toy hands you can get for cheap at any toy store, but they are rather crude. This one looks a bit more sophisticated.

    I'd love to see pictures of your project when you're done. I've built a few robot arms from kits and from scratch and they are no easy task to get the action right.
