Did it work? Did you encounter any problems?
I'm reviewing my comms options, and the easiest route seems to be BlueTooth (subject to change always!).

I had originally planned on using Bluetooth on Bheka, Had a working system, but found that Xbee was cheaper, easier, and more robust. So I switched. Having had both, I much prefer Xbee.
Good luck

I usually use Blueetoth (with Mindstorms NXT and Bioloid) and it works pretty well.
For example, the next robot is controlled sending the command sequence from the PC-USB_BT to a BT<->serial converter and then to the CM-5 serial connector.
Weren't the Ferrels using blue tooth from their phones to control their bots? I was going to use a wiimote, which is blue tooth as a potential remote controller for squidword...just forgot the remote at home.![]()
Ok, so it seems that BT is an acceptable option. Probably going to play around with both BT and Xbee.
I'm guessing the wireless (2.4ghz) PS2 controllers have an issue in that environment, or did anyone try to use it laster year.

Most laptops are class 2. If you use bluetooth only use class 1 to control a robot and if you can use bluetooth 2.0.
There are some really inexpensive class 1 bluetooth 2.0 usb dongles.
I came across Bluetooth Bee.
Anybody tried it?

I'm HOPing it'll plop into the Arbotix board and I write a little
bluetooth app for my Android phone and use IT's brains in
conjunction with the lil AVR on board the Arbotix.
