    Re: Eyes

Will you please suggest that for use as a head on one of the numerous robot babies out there?

It'd pretty much complete my ultimate nightmare, and prove to be the ultimate case of uncanny valley simultaneously.

    Great work!

    Question Eye lid questions.

How did you make the eye lids? And how do you know how to hinge them on the same line?

    Curiously yours,

    Re: Eyes

    Thanks Guys
To make the vacuum form of the eyelids, I placed the hinge lids through the center of the eye axis. I close the hinge lids about 95%, blocked out with clay behind the lids to avoid undercuts. This I made a mold of the eye and lids in plaster, and place into the vacuum form machine and did a suck down. Trimmed and measured to make the center cut to separate the upper eyelid

I cut 2 metal rings from some tubing ,Drilled center axis holes in both rings, cutway waste and grinded in inter and outer hinge
its hard to see the holes in this picture

Awesome, awesome, awesome (and a little bit terrifying).

Thank you for answering my question. Too bad I don't have a vacuum former. What do you suggest for someone who is experimenting with ping-pong balls for the eyelids?
