Thread: my personal hexapod SPIDEE-1

  1. my personal hexapod SPIDEE-1

I started with Alibre and paper designs, then moved to plastic, and the latest version is aluminum (no video yet). I have released all the instructions for making my hexapod on instructables.com along with a few other tutorials. I am filling my first order for a friend now. SPIDEE-1 will be at the MondoMatrix booth at the NYC Make Faire. I conservatively estimate that my robot can lift ~5kg on three legs. The unique feature of this hexapod over others available today is that this one is completely open source.

My next project is a home-built CNC so that I can realize my designs faster. I would love to make a career out of designing and building robots.
