    Lightweight RX-24F bot

Long story short, PLM bot's legs are being upgraded to RX-28s. Here's what I did with the now-free'd 16x RX-24Fs:

    1.9kg, 16 DOF, smaller than a Bioloid.

No name yet, but he's SO cute!

    Okay, sleep now.

Nice, and quick! I'm looking @ getting the RX-24F's, but 16 (4DoF/leg quad) of them are a pretty darn good chunk of change - and that's not including the turret servos! Still, getting my shopping list together...!

My courier should be here any minute. Can't wait. Very excited. Money should be spent this way instead of buying a MacBook air. However having both is also fantastic.

Reminds me of the Futaba RBT-1 but more powerful, more torque!

The speed of the leg movements is so great that if one foot had 100% grip the bot would fall over, but have you considered putting a very thin strip of rubber along the outside of each foot (I.E. LHS of the left foot, & RHS of the right foot) so that with a little change on the foot angle, the bot could push off sideways with more grip, slide on the inner edge of the other foot during transition, then grip again with the outside of the foot to stop. Might need to slow the movement of the side-step to stop the bot falling over, but it could allow you to side-step & cover a lot more ground, with less heat build-up in the servos since they are working less. The rubber would make it more stable during your offensive actions too, if you tilt the feet a little to put more weight on the rubber strips. Something like a thin smear of window silicone should be enough.
