Continuing to make some great progress with the code over the week.
I now have all four legs working in tandem with the gait algorithm.

Next up is to start tackling a controller interface and a motion manager.

What's the white controller board (on top)? A homebrew?

Its the ATMEGA644 board that I used in my 2011 mech Gold Rush. This blog post has some pictures of it. I will be using a new smd version of that board in OKQ1.

Auto targeting would be a great feature for a mech to have. I just so happens I have been working on a target panel tracking solution.

Enjoy this short teaser of my first working demo!

Well, we're in trouble now... As if you really needed that.

    Very nice.

I wonder if anyone will have dummy panels on their robots to counter this...

Re: OKQ1: 4DOF MX Quad Mech

The rules state that you're allowed to attach frames/colors/tape to the competitor's panels. Given that I just wrote a "cone recognizer" for my robomagellan rover, it would be easy to make the color it looks for configurable. If you put on red panels, I select green tape for outlining... (oh, oh, are we seeing the beginnings of a metagame evolve? :-)

that is amazingly fast! great work. Now I'll have to perfect Hikari's grab the toy cars scattered around the arena and throw them move.
