Thread: Target panel mounting frames

    Target panel mounting frames

    Hello -

I created some Mech Warfare target panel mounting frames on my Makerbot. The files have been uploaded to Thingiverse at
    http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:38584.

I've had some trouble finding an acceptable way to mount the target panels to the mech. I think these should do the trick.

    Here's how they work:

Hope you find them helpful !

This looks great. So the files are just for those plastic frames? Mind posting the full CAD file to the forum? it would be nice to be able to open it and take measurements.

Yes, the files will produce the gray plastic frames. Each frame is slotted to hold the target panel and its protective cover in place. The frames have holes for a #2 or 2mm screw. I had trouble uploading non-image files to this forum, so I put the .stp on Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:38584).

You can push any 'incompatible' files into a zip file, and it will upload easily.

Great. You have no idea how helpful these are. I was about to spend a few hours trying to figure out how to include panel mounts in my 3D printed turret frame. Now just a bunch of holes.

Great solution and nicely done! I will certainly be using something just like this.

+rep for making the files available to everyone.

Just wondering if you could maybe make the .dwg available. The software I use is being irritating about importing the .stp. Not sure if it would work better with .dwg, but I would like to try. Thanks.

For helping byi, I would also suggest .iges/.igs format as a widely-supported 3D format. (I've not used dwg *shrug*)

    Also nice, work

Sorry, I can't export to dwg. I can do IGES, SolidWorks, or ParaSolid. I can also export to a couple different flavors of STP ( AP 203 or AP214). Send me a PM and we'll work something out.
