4DOF Quadrupedal Mech Entry - Envy

I'm blatantly ripping off Upgrayd's open source 4DOF MX-64 based quad mech design & code (OKQ1) and building a second mech named Envy.

Insanity Wolf should still make an appearance, but needs a complete overhaul before he's competition ready. Will likely just use it as a backup.

Legs are going to get some aesthetic shielding, and guns are being rebuilt from scratch (using IW's as placeholders).

What's the "wingspan" of that, side to side?

It's about the same as Insanity Wolf, which is 22" or so. It might actually be slightly smaller.

That's the new Arbotix-M. It's smaller, SMD, uses a much higher quality switching VREG (1.5amp, no heat), more IOs in exchange for a lack of 1amp motor driver.

Insanity Wolf really didn't have any issue at all navigating, and it's a tad larger than Envy. I thought it would, but alas it really wasn't a problem- the only thing I recall is not having the greatest sense of depth perception on my peripherals so I think I hit a few buildings here and there. Not really an issue though.

You have mounted the guns far apart on the sides, just like on Insanity Wolf. Focusing them would seem like additional trouble. Are there any advantages?

It was mostly a convenience of their mounting location and the focus control helps the spacing. It worked just fine for my on IW last year, so I don't see any problem doing it again.

Did some more work this weekend, redesigning the legs again. Also finished up my 3D model so it'll be ready for open source release.
