Thread: Dynamixel MX-28T: installed Maxon RE-max motor?

  1. Dynamixel MX-28T: installed Maxon RE-max motor?

Hi, I want to compare the actual torque constant of Dynamixel MX28T motor with my self measured result.
I know the motor inside the Dynamixel MX-28T is a Maxon RE-max but I haven't been able to figure out which exact model has been used. I guess it is a Maxon RE-max 17 with part number 214897 (link) due to the matching voltage values (12V) recommended in the Dynamixel Datasheet.
However, I am not sure about this assumption and it would be very helpful if anyone could confirm this or give me the part number of the actual installed Maxon motor.

    Best regards,
    fjp

If you open the servo, you can actually get to the motor yourself. Re-assembly may be a bit finicky, but can be done. Hopefully, there would be a label on the motor if you could get to reading it :-)

As I recall, it is not a standard and available motor. It may have been that I only checked an RX-28M, but I do not remember finding the part number in the Maxon library. It would not be too surprising if Robotis had them made custom for their servos.

Th MX-28T uses a standard 12V motor from Maxxon. The Robotis motor has a custom Maxxon part number due to the custom 13 tooth 0.3 mod gear laser welded on its shaft.
