Mirobot - a WiFi robotics kit for kids

    Hello all,
I thought you might be interested in a project that I've recently released into the wild. Mirobot is a build-it-yourself WiFi robotics kit that's designed to teach children about technology, engineering and programming. It's all open source and designed to be easily hackable.

It's a drawing robot and is inspired by the BBC Turtles that were used in schools in the UK in the 80s. I wanted to make something that kids could actually assemble themselves and then use to learn the basics of programming. There are also some collision detection sensors and a line following attachment that can be used to make it autonomous. It's all based around the Arduino so is nice and simple to get started with.

It's doing well on Kickstarter at the moment - it's currently 400% funded! Take a look if you're interested in building robots with your kids (or others you know!):

    Hi Ben,

You changed the PCB from two boards to one board and changed the WIFI but the assembly instructions still show a USR soldered to a board and the parts list for Version 1.5 and 1.6 show the same USR part.
Your Mirobot has an antenna but how is that connected to the PCB, I don't see a USR on the PCB in the picture above.
I have three of version 1.5 boards made, four laser cut chassis sets of parts, various electronics and parts.
need the motors still. But what part to buy for the Wifi and how to connect it?

    Thanks
