This is to gauge interest for mech builders outside of RTEAM to come to Tucson in sometime this December (2015) and have a mech warfare tournament. If we have enough interest we'll turn our December monthly scrimmage into a tournament. We're trying to gauge interest so we can try get a actual location and date.

    Location: Tucson, AZ
Exact location is still up in the air.

    Date: Mid-Late December 2015.
Exact date is still up in the air.

    Carrot on a stick:
We have at least 4 fully functional mechs to fight against in Tucson. (Apophis, Mech'99, Nomad, Thorn)
Learn from experienced Mech Warfare builders/competitors.
Tucson is really nice in December.
    We'll supply the scoring system.

    Theoretically, that'd be great!

Practically, I ended up with some damage on Onyx that needs fixing, and hasn't yet been. And if I'm "fixing" I might as well consider tearing it down and changing everything...

I like the idea, although getting myself or a team member across the country during finals/holidays is iffy.

Hmmm..I haven't kicked a R-Team mechs butt since last time I was at Robogames.. Although Maggot is in pieces She could probably be put back together, If I can remember how to do that stuff. Haven't touched a bot in years..If you get enough interest, Team Maggot could probably get there. It's a long drive from Idaho..

If a specific date can be decided soonish, I'd consider a few day layover flying from California to Michigan for the holidays...!

I'd try to make it out there. Especially if Gary is going to be there. My robots are in a similar state of semi-disrepair but i should be able to fix it/them up easily enough.

Geez cire.. no pressure or anything.... I'm trying to remember how the mech even worked.. I'm reeaallly old and forgetful ya know..Just trying to figure what I used for the main program. I know I used Ryans camera stuff. I had to dig out the old Dell laptop.. My new box is an I7 with Linux and all the old stuff is built around some Windoze XP software.

    Trying to remember..

What dates works for those interested in making it out here to Tucson? We were thinking somewhere between Dec. 29th and Jan 3rd. We could also possibly do a mid-December.

We can help out those needing to get their Mechs up on operating. We can come up with spare target plates & scoring transponder systems. I'm also trying to get a couple extra guns up and operating (no promises yet though). We can make recommendations on camera systems too. Also, a couple of the R-Team members have offered to each put a traveler up for room and board to help keep the costs down, if needed.

I might be able to cobble Warchild back together. It's in pieces and don't quite remember how my software works, but I'm definitely interested.

Dates aren't all that critical for me, but I think I bricked my servo controller. Accidently hit the update firmware button and it's been all downhill ever since.

Not sure what's going to happen now.
