Load on a robotic arm

Hi!

In order to chose a robot they quantify the load in the datasheet but is that enough to choose a robot? Is it just the weight of the milling head (in my case) that is necessary? I'm still novice in this domain, but I'd think that there is the stress during the milling that I have to consider (which differs with the used material)

You have to choose at least based on weight of continuous load it can handle, precision of position, and backlash/rigidity.
Ability to interface with CAM software that you will be using is also a plus :-)
