    AX/RX Compliance vs MX PID

    Hi,

I was looking at the Dynamixel Guide here:
    http://learn.trossenrobotics.com/pro...xel-guide.html

And noticed that there is a Compliance/PID column and that AX and RX actuators have Compliance and MX actuators have PID.

    Can someone explain this distinction?

    Thanks,
    Adam

Re: AX/RX Compliance vs MX PID

Compliance is approximately like the "P" of a PID controller.

The MX/RX servos have slower CPUs, and do not implement a full PID controller, whereas the MX servos have a newer CPU and does implement a full PID (with some additional parameters, even, depending on mode.)

The Robotis documentation explains how each of the kinds of controllers work.
    For example:
    http://support.robotis.com/en/produc...ries/mx-64.htm
    http://support.robotis.com/en/produc...x_actuator.htm

Thanks for the explanation. I will probably have to do some experimentation to really get it.
