My RoboBuilder mod

I just finished some appearance mods on my RoboBuilder kit (hey, if he faces another one in competition, I want to be able to tell which is mine!). Thought I'd share:

Those are silver body plates (they look a little gold in the picture, but that's just my poor photography). And of course that red light in the head cycles back and forth, Cylon-style.

Under that shiny exterior is a 3-axis accelerometer, a Bluetooth module, and some custom firmware. I'm hoping to have him ready to participate in RoboGames 2009, though there is still a lot to do...

Including picking a name. I'm terrible at naming robots. Any suggestions?

And don't worry about your photography - "we'll just fix it in post"

[The only thing I had to go on was your statement about the color, and the presumably "white" lables on the servos. You can let me know if I screwed it up, and I'll remove it.

Looks great! What did you use to get the silver body? I don't see those as an upgrade from Robobuilder? Unless I'm blind...

Thanks for the feedback, all! The silver body parts started out as transparent parts, which I spray-painted metallic silver (several coats, with buffing in between).

Adrenalynn, your color adjustment looks perfect! I really should learn to do that...

And I thought about the aluminum brackets, but decided to wait until I've ascertained their true necessity (i.e., wait until the plastic ones break). My guess is that the plastic ones are strong enough, and I think they look great and are certainly easier to hack.
