2 empty playdoh cups.

1 can of fiberglass resin or your favorite modeling plastic.

1 can of RTV silicone.

1 roll of masking tape.

Tools Required:

Exacto knife

Things you will need to get started:

2 empty playdoh cups. Cost, free if you have kids..lol
1 can of fiberglass resin or your favorite modeling plastic. Cost $8
1 can of RTV silicone $12

1 roll of masking tape. Cost $1

First find a robot toy about the same size as your humanoid with hands that you like. For example I used a bumble bee transformer.

Then you will need to cut 2 slits down both sides of the cup. This will allow you to remove the mold easily and be able reuse it.

Then use your masking tape to seal the cup so there are no leaks when you pour you molds.

Then pour your RTV silicone into the cup leaving room for you robots hand to fit in. slowly insert the robots hand until it is fully engulfed. Then let it dry for 4 hours.

Once the silicone is dry remove the playdoh cup from the mold.

Then with an exacto knife cut the mold in half, making sure as you cut you can feel the tip of the knife touching the hand inside the mold. This will make sure the rubber is cut all the way threw to the model. Once you have made your cut separate the 2 halves. Then find the highest point in the mold and cut a channel for air to escape when you pour the resin.Then retape the cup and put the mold back in the cup.

Now the resin is ready to be poured. Slowly pour the resin so air is able to escape. Once you have poured the resin slowly shift the cup from left to right so any trapped air escapes. The resin dries in about 2 hours.

Now that the resin is dry. Slowly separate the 2 halves and remove your finished hand.

Next just take a dremil and trim your model and make a couple pilot holes paint them and attach them to your humanoid.
Now you have a reusable mold to make as many hands, heads, feet, ect as you like. So now you can go to the toy store and any part of any robot toy can be incorporated into your humanoid.
